Commission Schedule
Our commission schedule is quite possibly the simplest one online. It's $29.95 per trade. There are no extra charges for market orders, limit orders, large volume, small volume, stocks under $1.00, or Canadian trades. Its simply $29.95 with no small print or exceptions. Plus, at PennTrade every 10th trade is free. Just complete 9 qualified trades online, and the 10th is on us.

As is common throughout the industry, a small "activity assessment fee" (sometimes called "regulatory transaction fee" or " SEC fee") related to Section 31 of the Securities and Exchange Act of 1934 applies on sell transactions. The rate for 2006 is $0.0307 -- about three cents -- per $1,000 of sale proceeds. This rate is adjusted annually by the SEC and posted on its website.

$500 Deposit
Only $500 equity is required to open your PennTrade account. This initial deposit can be met with cash, equivalent securities or any combination of the two.
