To maximize your security, login to your account and click on the "Contact Us" link inside the "Help" folder. This sends a secure email to the PennTrade staff. Please DO NOT send regular email with your wiring instructions.

Note that names must match on the brokerage account and the bank account. Third party wires are not permitted by regulation, and in any event are easily misdirected.

A. If you want to wire funds to a United States bank, please send us this information:

  1. your bank's name and address
  2. your bank's ABA routing number

How do I send stock certificates to PennTrade?
Stock certificates become negotiable instruments when they are signed, and thus more subject to theft. So please do not sign the certificate itself. Instead sign our “stock power” form. This form will reduce your risk, while permitting us to deposit the stock into your account.

The best way to deposit stock certificates is this:

  1. Do not sign the actual stock certificate.
  2. Download and print out our stock power form by clicking here.
  3. Sign and date the stock power form BUT leave all the rest of it blank. NOTE: your signature on the form must exactly match the name(s) on the stock certificate. If more than one person is listed on the certificate, each must sign the stock power.
  4. Make a copy of the stock certificate and stock power for your records.
  5. Send the signed and dated stock power form and stock certificate via registered mail to the address below

PennTrade
c/o Pennaluna & Company
421 Sherman Ave.
Coeur d' Alene, ID 83814

IMPORTANT: We must meet added compliance requirements that take some time before we can deposit "free trading" certificates of over 10,000 shares. This is a result of the PATRIOT Act, anti-money laundering requirements, and increased regulatory compliance and liability concerns. Please contact us before you send certificates of 10,000 shares or more.

NOTE: You cannot trade stock bearing a restricted legend. See the following FAQ.

How do I deposit trade restricted shares?
Securities regulations do not allow you to trade stock that bears a restricted legend. The restricted legend must first be removed to show that the stock is "free trading".

The removal procedure takes time, patience, paperwork and logistical coordination.

You may be able to do this yourself by contacting the issuing company and following its directions as to dealing with the transfer agent, securities counsel and so on. After the process is completed and you receive a new "free trading" certificate, you can send it to us. (BUT see the note below concerning certificates of more than 10,000 shares.)

If you prefer, we can handle legend removal for you.

Because of the additional time, effort, logistics and other factors necessary to provide this service, all stock that we "clean up" for trading, whether traded online or through a broker, must be traded at Pennaluna's broker commission rates for such stock rather than PennTrade's self-service online rate. Also, such trades do not count toward a PennTrade free trade. Please contact us for details.
